This website is my sincere-if not particularly serious-attempt to capture what I find meaningful, interesting, or confounding.  If vanity or success prompts me to update this site in the future to refer to myself in the third person ("Rob J. Mann is an award-winning columnist, aspiring medieval blacksmith, and the proud owner two Miniature Schnauzers, Karl and Carl."), then I've lost my way.  I'll link this statement on the internet archive, which ought to keep to me honest, as nothing motivates me quite like the prospect of shame.
